Are perimenopause symptoms worse than menopause?

Are perimenopause symptoms worse than menopause?

Its worth remembering that the Perimenopause is the lead up to the Menopause, the perimenopause can take up to 10 years. The Menopause itself is the day which you haven’t had a period for 12 consecutive months. Some of the symptoms can persist from the perimenopause into the menopause.

Remind yourself of the whole host of symptoms which you may experience during the perimenopause, there are up to 48 symptoms!!…….

Just as some women experience mild or many symptoms during perimenopause so they can experience the same during menopause.

For some they will sail through the perimenopause whilst experiencing symptoms once that period has stopped and they are in menopause. For others they may have a tough perimenopause and feel much better when the period stops and they are actually in menopause.

Some symptoms such as hot flushes may continue throughout perimenopause and menopause.

As we have said before hormone therapy, natural remedies and making lifestyle choices may all help whether perimenopausal or menopausal.

Taking a good multivitamin may help, maintaining a good work balance, sleeping well, drinking plenty of water, cutting down on alcohol and exercising should help with symptoms. However wherever you are in perimenopause or menopause it is worth visiting your doctor if your symptoms are getting you down so that they can offer advice on Hormonal treatments such as HRT which may ease symptoms for you.
