Women can start to experience perimenopause symptoms at different ages.
Typically it starts in the 40s and early 50’s however it can start as early as your late 30s.
Some say it can last roughly 10 years before menopause. The transition can be shorter or longer from person to person. Taking into consideration the average age of the perimenopause we can say that it is between the ages of 42 and 47.
It is useful to consider what perimenopause actually refers to, it is the time around and leading up to the menopause. It is the build up to stopping your periods. Once you have gone a whole year without a period you are officially in menopause.
