Perimenopause & Me

Why can the perimenopause start early?

Your body transitioning to the menopause is called the perimenopause, this time can start as early as your mid 30s and you may think that you are too young to start experiencing symptoms of your changing hormones. Whilst most women start to have symptoms in their 40s and 50s, your hormones are changing from your mid thirties.

It is always advisable if you have any symptoms ranging from changes to your periods, hot flushes, headaches, brain fog, body aches and mood changes to name a few to discuss this with your doctor or medical professional, who will depending on your age and symptoms run tests and ask questions to determine if you are in the perimenopause or if indeed you are suffering with something else.

Going through the menopause early needs to be checked out by your doctor.
